Davido, and a crowd of 20,000

London was cold, but the O2 Arena was alive with heat from Davido's music. Kareemat came for the concert. Tunde came for the same. Neither of them knew that night would change the meaning of January forever.

Outside the O2, after the show

“You are my wife.”

After the show, as friends gathered outside the O2, they met. It wasn't dramatic at first just a glance, then another. But something lingered. Something familiar. As though their souls had recognised each other before their bodies ever did. Tunde smiled, stepped closer, and without hesitation said the words that surprised everyone, including Kareemat: “You are my wife.” Their friends burst into laughter, but Kareemat didn't laugh. She looked at him and replied with the same calm certainty: “I have met my husband.” To everyone else, it sounded like a joke carried by the excitement of the night. But deep down, they both knew it was something more. They spoke for barely ten minutes, yet it felt timeless. Not like strangers meeting, but like two people reconnecting.

Soon, reality returned. At the London Underground, as they prepared to part ways, Tunde called out warmly: “My wife! How will I contact you?” Numbers were exchanged quickly, almost nervously. And then they went their separate ways. But they never really separated.

From ten minutes to a lifetime

From that day on, not a single day passed without conversation. Messages became calls. Calls became long nights of laughter, prayers, and shared dreams. Distance did not weaken what they had found it deepened it. What began as ten minutes outside a concert grew into certainty, commitment, and love. What their friends thought was a joke became a testimony. Because sometimes, love does not need time to introduce itself. Sometimes, it simply says: I have found you.

But the story had already started before that night

The day before the concert, on Saturday 27th January, Kareemat had attended a wedding as part of her weekend London getaway. During the reception, the DJ called all the single ladies to the dance floor for the bouquet toss. Kareemat hesitated. She wasn't particularly interested. She definitely wasn't strategising for a catch. And yet, when the bouquet was thrown, it was as if it gently found its way into her hands. She didn't fight for it. She didn't chase it. It simply chose her. Looking back now, maybe she should have known. That bouquet was not just flowers tossed into the air. It was a quiet foreshadowing, a symbolic whisper that something beautiful was already aligning. Less than 24 hours later, in a crowd of over 20,000 people in London, Kareemat found her Tunde.
